Hello,
Cocomama is my personal project of creativity. My aim is to combine my handicrafts and other skills that I have obtained by now. I graduated in 1995 from the South-West Finland´s Institute for Arts, Crafts and Design. My main subject was the clothing field. After that I worked for nearly a decade for a little company. There I learnt to design and sew curtains and how to handle leather among others. At the same time, during the 21st century I have also gone for a path of spiritual growth and studied some natural therapies such as Reiki, Shamballa Multidimensional Healing and Reflexology. At the moment I do healings and treatments only in the evenings/weekends.
In the area of handicrafts I´ve also taken shorter courses based on my interests. My main products are now frame drums, dreamcatchers, crochet-works and beadworks based on the techniques of the Mexican indians. I was taught these techniques by Mirja Rekola who is a researcher of Indian cultures. My works are usually rather colourful, from the cultures of the world I am inspired most by the cultures of Indians, Africans and the Sami people. I got interested in Indians, other cultures and pearls before I went to school, this I think is the influence of my past lives. Lizard is my Totem Animal which I like to draw or paint in many forms.
